Maruti Nexa Baleno Review

Hello & Welcome to Carwahi.

The car which I'm reviewing today is the India's most trusted brand's Premium Hatchback, that's Maruti Suzuki Baleno & that's why it is being sold in their Premium Shoppe "NEXA".

Previously Maruti has released "Baleno" as a Sedan but in 2015 they released Baleno as a Premium Hatchback in the market. Later, in 2016 Maruti has also have an RS version with Suzuki's Booster-Jet engine.

Breaking the review in point-wise :

ENGINE:  Heart of the car has two variants, one in Petrol & other is the Diesel.
The 4-Cylinder is mated to 5-speed 1.2L K-Series Petrol engine produces about 83 bhp & 115 Nm of torque. Considering the 1.3L diesel engine, the power is way too less as it only produces 74 bhp & 190 Nm of torque, Maruti should have provided with a better 1.5L Diesel engine option but they have been using the same engine since.

Hopefully, they've released a RS engine that's the 1.0L Booster-Jet petrol engine which kicks out 101 bhp of max power & a torque band of 150 Nm. The Booster-Jet engine is way more fun to drive but the price touches about 1-1.5 lakhs more than the regular version.

EXTERIOR: Maruti's liquid-flow design grille gives a premium & classy appeal. The chrome lining below the grille appeals as a bolder look to the car which also intrudes with the headlight, as only the top-spec variant gets Projector headlamps, in-fact this was the first introduction to the Projector headlamp in their line-up. The smooth shoulder line gives a clean appeal to the car with large side windows. Whereas the RS Baleno gets side-skirts, front & rear tweaked bumpers to feel it more sporty & all these combined with new sporty color schemes.

BOOT: At the back, first you'll notice is the thick chrome bar which houses the reverse camera at the center & their newly designed LED combo tail-lights. Opening the boot of 340 L which is kind of small if you'r planning for a long trip but fortunately you can split the rear seats into 60:40.

INTERIOR: Baleno's interior is a practical cabin to be in, as all the door-pockets can house 1-L bottles with two-cubby holes at the front & arm-rest both for the rear passengers as well as for the front.

The scooped out front seats give a better Leg-Room for a 5' tall person but the sloping roof at the rear will create problem for the Head-Room. 3 persons at the rear will be a claustrophobic as the window sill is upwards from seating position.

FEATURES: Top-Trim gets an 6" Touch Infotainment system which gets Apple CarPlay, Andriod Auto Connectivity, Navigation etc. The instrument cluster is bit stylish & upmarket with a LCD screen for the in-car information.
ABS, EBD is standard in the line-up. Reverse Parking sensors with camera. Key-less go & Push-button Start-Stop system is kinda first in Maruti's line-up.

Concluding the review with the prices, as it starts from 5.83 Lakhs to the top-spec 9.55 Lakhs which is kind of expensive but you'll experience service from Nexa's Premium Service Center. Baleno has a strong presence in road & a strong trust bond as the car is from Maruti, I'm giving a big thumbs up for the car.

DO A TEST-RIDE BEFORE YOU BUY A CAR.
