Royal Enfield showcases DAKAR Edition

There is always been a Sweet Spot for the adventure motorcycle in everyone's heart which is now in the full-flying mood as researched in the present market. So, to keep this trend flowing Royal Enfield has finally showcased it's most "Beast" Edition of the Himalayan that's the DAKAR Edition in Bangkok.

RE Himalayan is in the market since 2016 but due to rumors of bad quality parts, many aren't thought of buying one but after the launch of the BS-IV edition, the issues with the previous version have been resolved & it finally resulted in selling numbers for RE. In the 2018 Big Motor Sale, Bangkok they've showcased the DAKAR avatar edition, which almost keeps the original chassis but slight changes in the looks. Looking the bike you'll notice about the vertical headlamps with twin projector setup, gone are the round halogen lamps.

The engine bay of the bike is now surrounded by a "Orange" color crash guard & the seating have also been re-modified for one. With the "Groovy" tires in both rear & front for the superior grip in the mud & a higher exhaust position.

The front mud guard, suspension, fuel tank & the sump guard have been brought forward from the original RE Himalayan, even the instrument cluster is also kept the same, changes in that could've made it more sweet spot for the buyers. The 411 cc engine specs are hoping to be same as on the Himalayan version but still not confirmed from the RE end.

The Main changes are mentioned here:

  • The "Beast" looking vertical Projector headlamps.
  • The Groovy new tires & re-positioned exhaust.
  • Engine expected to be slightly modified.
