RE launches Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650 in US
A good news for RE fans out there! Royal Enfield's most rumored Interceptor 650 & the Continental GT has a long history to talk about, previously launched in the year 1960 & 1965 respectively but with different engine capacities. Now Royal Enfield has planned something serious about it & they've finally launched it in an event in US. Testing the seating positions of both the bikes we get to know that Interceptor 650 is designed for exclusive touring & the Continental GT 650 is for the cafe-racer because of the aggressive seating position. Seat height is kept at 793 mm & 804 mm for the Continental GT 650 & Interceptor 650 respectively. The ground clearance is kept 174 mm standard on the two. The engine is a 648 cc liquid cooled twin-parallel engine which produces about 47 Bhp at 7250 RPM & a peak torque of 52 Nm at 5250 RPM, which is slightly under-powered looking at the dimensions of the bikes.
